Time will turn new walls into old.
Bright colors will be covered by mold.
There are wide slipshod dabs
On grey befouled slabs.
A mural securely stores
All our dreams and hopes.
The shadows of feats and wins
In the house where nobody is…

Tati really knows how to pull it all out in so few words. I just don’t know how she does it! 🙂

She’s actually superb. I especially admire her because English is not her first language, and I know how hard it is to write fluently in a language that you didn’t learn first in life. She does it better than most native English speakers, she’s one of my favorite writes on WP.

I couldn’t agree with you more if I tried, C. It sounds like you and me both are huge fans of her. Take a bow, Tati. 😛

Did she do it? 😉 She ought!

She did. (I think. At least I heard a swish of air which could have been the sound of Tati bowing.) 😛

That last line is very similar to line in one of my poems. It’s spooky how much we think alike, Un. Great work!

Thank you ❤
As they say 'All fools think alike'…
It's a Russian proverb 😛

Wow, great poem Unbolt! I love the theme of painting, painting is something I write about a lot in my poetry!
Reminds me of these lines from my poem “Manic Attack / Panic Bivouac”:
“…While tracing space and interlacing time
And almost erasing my mostly neurotic tragedy
But nightmare’s eve still retraces what happens
And the painting’s always black and never dry
