Ok,I am now entering into the domain of comprehension.I had never been exposed to such minimalist style of writing. It is like modern art and now I am beginning to appreciate it! I wonder how you came up with this beautiful line..was it in a flash or you narrowed it down until you arrived at the “proverbial” ‘six words’? Just curios! 🙂
I’m not sure where or when the “six word story” originated, but it most likely wasn’t with Ernest Hemingway as most people believe. I first came across the form over at http://listentothebabe.com/ . Babe’s work is just brilliant. I’m a huge fan. And she’s written quite a few of these six word stories. All are far better examples of the form than my attempt I might add. Nevertheless, Tati has written one in response to my attempt, and we’ll be publishing it very soon! 🙂
Argh, this is too good! (if I may say so?) It just goes to show you don’t need a lot of words to convey a powerful meaning. On the contrary, the fewer words, the more intense it gets! (at least, in this case!) Greatly tempted to try six word stories now, hehe.

Only six words! Why I feel like I have read a novel 🙂

I’m glad you feel that way about it, Inese. I certainly meant for it to be packed with a lot of meaning! 🙂

A void that spans decades in time or oceanic miles. Excellent, Tony.

Mr Wolf, you are most certainly free to say so. Thank you for your generous appraisal of my first six word story effort! 😀

A huge story in six words, with seemingly infinite possibilities. Bravo!

That’s what I love about this form, Lola. I think Mr Hemingway was really onto something here! 😉

This reminded of a quote by Elly Belle “And we used “I love you” like an apology for the things we couldn’t give each other”…
