Is this the city of one
Where I can come for refuge of the quiet storm
Where you are welcome
Just by your face
And not how deep
Your pockets spent

Wow. This was so detailed and took me to an entirely different world. It read half as pilgrimage to love, half devolution to re-animation and also it was a phantasmagoric look at the hurts and costs of emotions. Terrific work! I love your longer poems so much

Our emotions can sometimes lead us to places we otherwise wouldn’t go, and that can be either a bad thing or a good thing depending on the outcome. Life is such an unwieldy, messy thing really, and I wonder if most of us feel like we’ve got the proverbial tiger by the tail and are barely holding on? I could relate to this character’s journey (based on a real life person) and her regret at the life she lived. I’m so glad we wrote this.

An interesting poem. Made me look to see who St. Nino was and the reference to the grapevine cross. I liked the line about the sun being a juddering timpani. Cheers Jamie.

‘Juddering timpani’ was Tati’s line. She has a way of bringing things to life with vivid word imagery. Thanks for reading, Jamie!

Guys, you are as lucky as you think you are! But you are worthy of interest and support, and that has nothing to do with luck.
