GUEST POST // Writing on the Train by Charles Joseph

it’s the sense of having nothing to do—
though surrounded by inspiration
conversations bombarding the ear
start an analyzation.
My thoughts becoming lamps hanging
in the obscure tunnel that i travel
with a hissing passion bringing me
to astonishment.
before my destination, I arrive at an idea sometimes
it waits for me—standing on the platform alone,
in the open air, where cold wind brings the echoes
the bench sitting in suspense, waiting for its purpose

  1. Reblogged this on Sircharlesthepoet and commented:
When Tony contacted me, a few months ago, asking for my permission to share one of my poems on his page, I was very honored that someone would want their audience to see my work. But I also didn’t think much of it—and I guess that was because I didn’t think much of the poem. But Tony did. Tony saw greatness in me. I read this poem again now, and I think, “wow…this is really good”. Living in NYC, taking the train is a daily part of my life. It was actually my favorite part of the day when I was in High School (secondary). So, of course, being someone who usually writes about their life, trains naturally ride into my poems. My gratitude is endless, Tony.

It also takes one to know one. So if you are reading this post right now, check out Tony’s page and publications. Tony is what I imagine when someone surpasses being just a “writer” to becoming purely an artist.

    Much love 💕

    • Hahaha stop it! You’re incredibly talented and make me jealous secretly. Also, your page design is INCREDIBLE!!! I can tell you put A LOT of work into it. I’m looking into changing my website theme, so it’s so cool to see what you’ve done with yours.

Once again, thanks a ton for honoring me in the way that you did!

    • Oh my god, I wish I could take credit for the page design. That’s actually all Tati, truth be told. It’s pretty cool, isn’t it? I’m loving yours as well! What new design do you have in mind to change to?

    • It’s super cool. Tell tati I said “phenomenal job”! I want a page that reads well with poetry—you just scroll down the blog and read the poems as you scroll down. I would like the text to be centered though—so there are left and right borders. Ofc, i know that would take away from how much text is displayed in the middle, which may cause the text to seem like it is being squeezed. I also would like to have multiple menu options to display a great archive page, online store and professional writing samples.

    • I hope you find this layout then as your work is certainly deserving of it! And I am sure that you will only go from strength to strength in your creative endeavours. Never give up, my friend. You deserve all the success in the world—however you define success!

    • Wow Tony, these are just words but the power behind them will motivate me for lifetimes as I continue the journey towards my endeavors. Thank you immensely my good friend. I can’t wait to see where we both go in our journeys 💕
