a True poem

A true poem shouldn’t be read aloud.
It should be born in a low-priced inn,
It should be written on a paper napkin,
It should be crumpled and straightway
It should be burned in the ashtray…

A true poem shouldn’t be read aloud.

I have written my share of poems on paper napkins! Ha! I was barely able to click the Like button before the little seed of inspiration you left started to grow and blossom into my poem “DON’T READ ME ALOUD”. You now have some Poetic DNA in it!!! I am so indebted to you for your inspiration for this poem. I hope that you will like it!! I’m planning on posting it tonight.

  2. How in the world did I miss this fantastic poem with such attitude? It’s so tragic, and brilliantly penned. I feel it to be so personal and intimate to share a thought on this level, it is sublime! Quite thought provoking, leaving me in deep thought, it captures a fleeting moment, this moment right now for the reader! Excellent!
