A true poem shouldn’t be read aloud.
It should be born in a low-priced inn,
It should be written on a paper napkin,
It should be crumpled and straightway
It should be burned in the ashtray…
A true poem shouldn’t be read aloud.

Yes! I agree. But go back to the ashtray, see if you can piece the pieces back together, probably it will be like a phoenix from the fire.

Dear Tetiana, Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful poem! It moved me so much. I loved your words

I have written my share of poems on paper napkins! Ha! I was barely able to click the Like button before the little seed of inspiration you left started to grow and blossom into my poem “DON’T READ ME ALOUD”. You now have some Poetic DNA in it!!! I am so indebted to you for your inspiration for this poem. I hope that you will like it!! I’m planning on posting it tonight.
Thank you and Tony so much for your great site and for being such faithful and consistent readers and supporters of my work!! I deeply appreciate all your views and comments! Bravo on such a moving piece!!

Oh my, yes! Tati is very much a “she”! We both write poetry here, even for stalkers! 😉

Well… Try to keep all burnt to ashes and then scatter the ashes!

How in the world did I miss this fantastic poem with such attitude? It’s so tragic, and brilliantly penned. I feel it to be so personal and intimate to share a thought on this level, it is sublime! Quite thought provoking, leaving me in deep thought, it captures a fleeting moment, this moment right now for the reader! Excellent!
Wandering and left Wondering,

I’m happy… Every your comment gives me the wings 🙂
And I’m glad that a big part of my blog is Terra Incognita for you… It means that you will be wandering, and (I hope) wondering 🙂
