It can be difficult to sell an ABAB poem without drifting into cliche but you’ve nailed it here and kept to perfect meter, so that’s an accomplishment in itself, but the imagery echoes beyond the form and the refrain is so well chosen, “put your burning in my bones” – an interesting close. Nice!
