Did you not compel me
with your fertile landscape
to conceive a thought
of acquiescence
That I may touch heaven
if only for an hour
as your ripening buds
surrendered to my touch
Did you not propel me
with your servile hand to nape
to embolden in need
this quickening
An action birthed
with a pregnant pause
as your seasons
unfolded before me
You did not repel me
But let me lay a while
In your delicate layers
As we blossomed together

You (both) certainly accomplished your goal in one of the most beautiful presentations of (as ramexa said) love-making that I’ve read; so balanced, smooth and clear; so penetrating and stirring, too, without any contradiction. Iconic of both Passion and Beauty. . . Wonderful to wake up to this, this morning. Bravo! 🙂

I’m glad you enjoyed this, Peter. Few things are as warming as this kind of poetry in the dead of winter! 😛

I’ve never been able to touch a subject like this without giggling and sounding like a prude lol. But this is inspiration to push through eventually and just do it. Very beautifully done!

I can sympathise, jesuisreveur. This is not easy to get right, and can often tip over into being cheap and tawdry or just unintentionally funny. Keep at it though! I’m sure you’ll find success with your efforts! 😀

Thank you. I’m just getting back in the flow of even writing so it’ll be awhile 🙂 but eventually I’ll get it.

This is by far the most elegant poem I’ve read about sex. No, not sex, love-making. Simply beautiful.

Woohoo. Super fantastic awesome, Tony. I still don’t know what happened to the spacing of the lines with this. No matter what I did, it wouldn’t do as it was told. I was reading that aloud last night. Loved every minute working with you. We must do it again soon. Perhaps find a quiet place at the back of the library.

Libraries are by far the best place for collaborating, I think. As for the extra spaces, I think it reads well that way, don’t you? It’s kinda nice that the last stanza is on its own there… almost like a footnote! 🙂

Actually, I agree. It’s how it was meant to be.

I like happy little accidents like that, so in this instance it’s good that it gave you a bit of grief at the time of writing, Annie! 🙂
