Please do feel free to do just that. Sometimes things take more than one reading for the meaning to settle. I find that’s often the case for me. 🙂

Inese, what a lovely thing to say. Thank you! I’m glad it resonated! 🙂

I prefer to imagine the poet as the hanging man in a tarot deck, rather than just a hanged man. In this way I re-read the poem and see the chaos and wisdom written in the space between words. Thank you this piece is very beautiful

You know, I had never considered this from that perspective, but now that I do it makes perfect sense. I like your take, Kelley. Thank you! 🙂

I have so much to say, but all I can get out is, “This is epic!” No, but seriously, have you ever thought about writing an Epic? The way you control storied poetry is amazing 🙂

Michael, you are awesome! Thank you for your amazingly kind words! And, you know what? I have indeed thought of writing an epic story poem, perhaps along the lines of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight or something. I think the reason I haven’t started on it yet is that… well, it’ll be a huge undertaking, and there are other things Tati and I are wanting to work on first. 😛

why are you posting things you already wrote instead of writing things to this site as you open the web browser right there.

Well, I can hardly let that dusty old Shakespeare and old-fashioned Hemingway steal the glory now can I? 😉

you wrote this in two thousand eight?

I certainly did. It was one of my earliest poems actually, so there are versions of it that existed even before then. 🙂
