circle without end

i am shape, formerly human
a frosting sphere beneath heaven’s blear
insensate in the wake of chased dreams
waking to be, to be held by you

but you don’t care for all that i’ve shared
(in truth) do you
taking only what i can ill afford to give
yea, lay me down, do trollen sigh
into the bracement of dip and rime

hoar am i as the sea
you always said something about completing me
professed to crest open roil with gladness
but have you ever

i’m the end you always supposed me to be
and you’ll always be the end point of me
we reek of codependency
yea, lay me down, do trollen cry
cover thon over these lovers’ crimes

tease me with your lips, plunder me
sweet talk me again and again
squeeze me with your hips, squander me
junk me gently with the pain

yea, lay me down, do trollen fly
decrease the contours of my decline
was there ever a beginning to all of this
you’ll always be the end point of me
we reek of codependency

hoar am i as the sea
something about you completing me
and cresting the open roil with gladness
but have you ever

yea, lay me down, do trollen hie
bury me gone, away from all time
you won’t care for all that i’ve shared
(in truth) will you
taking only what i can ill afford to give

i am shape, formerly human
a thing to be abraded with use
an asset, a liability
you’ll always get to choose

  1. I Google words thinking I can understand their meaning better, but I find nothing for bracement, though Trollen does bring some suggestions. Is there meaning I’m missing, or is the reader supposed to fill-in-the-blank with some approximation of a word that makes sense to them? I really want to know. As always, your work are lyrical and haunting. Edging around possible interpretations, as clear as frosted glass.

    • I sometimes don’t use words in their strictest sense, and other times I’ll make up a word that could be mistaken for meaning something. It’s just my way. I love to play with language and see what I can make words do. Some efforts are certainly less successful than others, but it’s a process that I enjoy. ^^’

    • Actually, I inadvertently make up words when I try to come up with one I mean to say, but get wrong. I like playing with words and language too, so I hope that I did not come across as ‘know-it-all’ and ‘correcting you.’ That wasn’t my intent. I truly like to understand your poetry and that was my intent–to seek enlightenment from the poetic source.

    • You absolutely did not come across that way! If anything, I appreciated the heads up as I hadn’t realised the mistake I’d made. It’s people such as yourself that help us to maintain some kind of standard when we do our blogging thing. So, very grateful here! 🙂
