GUEST POST // The Pen and Paper Life by Ry Hakari

There’s a memoir somewhere around here
That bears my name engraved in bold on the front cover
Just the same as words cut deep in a headstone
A novel written on broken dreams with fallen tears
And a slap in the face to the one who creates
I’m nauseated by my own philosophy
And I won’t claim the pages as my own anymore
All they’ve done is rip me off with their clever lies
But it’s my turn to do the ripping now
So I’m sitting on this dirty window sill
Tearing out all my chapters page by page
Watching the wind carry them away one by one
But it isn’t as simple as I make it sound
Like a spider bite on the inside
Every rip stings my heart a little bit
Ten years have just gone out the window
By sitting in it for just three months
It’s been ninety-nine days today
And now I’m in need of a massive re-write
Because all that’s left are two covers and a spine
But I won’t be the writer this time around
God the Creator is my author now
So the new edition is sure to sell

GUEST POST // When Time Stopped For You by Kasey Stafford aka BasicAudio

The younger days grew older,
With the hourglass dropping bits of time,
I sit, staring at shared memories left unto me.
These nights grow colder.
I’m throwing wishes toward the heavens,
For you to walk this earth again.
To see my friend, I wish
I knew why you left.
Still I was left to wonder.
Left to stare at the remnants of a shattered life.
Lost to it’s meaning, suffered in it’s feelings.
The news broke me in two.
How your skies faded from blue to black, I’ll never understand.
How could you give up?
You left me in the dark,
Before you blew out your last candle.
Tears falling like the stars,
Where your light now resides.
Flickering echoes of a soul lost in the universe,
Forever reaching for Gods hand,
While mine are shaking, gathering up sand.
Piecing together the hourglass,
Holding it together with memories,
So it can never be broken again.
Rest peacefully with the stars.

GUEST POST // Lost In Translation by Tokoni O. Uti

The resulting fruit is unable to mirror the tree.
I’m unable to crack the code that is me.
The square pegs are lined up in defiant rows.
And the lone vine will unorthodoxly grow.
We’re fighting the tides of unkind situation.
And feeling the pain of lost in translation.

GUEST POST // To A Blog by Raycabiro

Dear Blog,
Are you a log
Within which I write a journal?

Or Blog,
Are you a log
Floating in a sea of troubles?

But Blog,
Are you a log
Upon which I rest my laurels?

Dear Blog,
You are a log
With whom I will not ever quarrel.

GUEST POST // Nothing by Purple Creature

Darkness surrounds me,
Engulfing me… comforting me,
Befriending me.
The pain is growing,
Becoming everlasting…
It has become my new bride.
My memories are long gone and
Far away now as distant as
Alpha Centauri.
I lie here like and open wound
With puss oozing out.
Like an itch that can never be scratched.
Like a virgin who will never be able to feel the inside of a woman and explode in ecstasy…
My time has come… I am slipping away to never-never land… like a thief in the night.
Fuck you, world…
You gave me nothing
And I give you nothing back…
