TATI’s & TONY’s DEAD POET TOUR // The Stream’s Song by Lascelles Abercrombie

Make way, make way,
You thwarting stones;
Room for my play,
Serious ones.

Do you not fear,
O rocks and boulders,
To feel my laughter
On your broad shoulders?

So you not know
My joy at length
Will all wear out
Your solemn strength?

You will not for ever
Cumber my play:
With joy and son
I clear my way.

Your faith of rock
Shall yield to me,
And be carried away
By the song of my glee.

Crumble, crumble,
Voiceless things;
No faith can last
That never sings.

For the last hour
To joy belongs:
The steadfast perish,
But not the songs.

Yet for a while
Thwart me, O boulders;
I need for laughter
Your serious shoulders.

And when my singing
Has razed your quite,
I shall have lost
Half my delight.

It’s so immodest, isn’t it? Sorry, guys… I couldn’t help it.
It’s too beautiful to be hidden. Thank you, Greg… Ayor anosh’ni

were dancing for you
as single girls

in your image
for suitors?

nature
carved your wings of awe,
with your mind and heart
splashing them
with colors of delight:
lime and orange
with specks
of black and rouge,
an exquisite
sight to see.

Ich Rumpelstilzchen Heißen!

“Let’s open a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and pour out our lives, let’s make it colourful!”

Hey, buddies! Where are your wineglasses? Don’t be shy! Come on!

bg-quote1Heute back ich, morgen brau ich,
übermorgen hol ich der Königin ihr Kind;
ach, wie gut, dass niemand weiß,
dass ich Rumpelstilzchen heiß!

My mysterious Ukrainian friend wrote those lines to me a few days back, when I told her that I like to call myself Rumpelstiltskin. I don’t speak German, so I had to whip out J.A.R.V.I.S. (my phone) and puzzle out the translation. I could guess what those lines would be, but I like solving puzzles and this to me was nothing less. I read the lines out smiling to myself.

Fairy tales always take me back to a cozy and peaceful place in time; curled up in bed with my dad or mum reading from a big book of tales. Then ever so slowly the sandman would come riding on moonbeams and take me away to Neverland. Story telling is an art, and my parents will…

When you will cut me…

When you cut me up, to pieces
And flatten out all my creases
You will discover the real me.

Like the growth cycles of trees –
My dear books, my funny sprees,
My music… All that makes me free.

…what makes me happy… makes me free.
