when the morning comes
i’ll yearn for transcendence again
tho’ the days keep piling all around
but before i know it i’ll be choking on fire
the fulsome hate behind your words
we’re not the object of your resentment
your feelings are way too big for our insides
we’re wayfaring strangers, not obliging quintains
so tilt at yourself please and leave us alone
don’t make us breach like worn out wineskins
is this what you want, to slut shame us?
fine, if it helps then you’re the higher one
and we are the weak, tawdry, ignoble
so when the morning comes you’ll have won
and i’m sure this knowledge will have warmed your bed

Intense emotions and you’ve brought so much honest into this poem. Love it.
we’re not the object of your resentment
your feelings are way too big for our insides
we’re wayfaring strangers, not obliging quintains
Man, you sure have a way with words my friend. 🙂

Thank you, good sir. Yes, there was a bit of anger and frustration behind those words. I felt it was unfair for Tati and I to be so arbitrarily hated by someone who didn’t even really know us at all.

Where you being judged by someone on here?

We were, my friend, but it seems like this is something that most people on WP have experienced at one time or another… so it’s kind of nice to know we’re not the only ones.

Don’t worry my friend I’m here for you. If it makes you feel any better. I too, feel judged and criticized sometimes. I don’t let them get to me, even though its difficult to ignore people that are mean. I just ignore and smile and don’t bother with them.

It’s good advice, Charlie. It’s really better not to engage if one doesn’t need to. And, thank you. We’ve got your back too! 🙂

Sometimes, other people’s emotions can be difficult to take on, especially if those emotions are quite intense! Thanks for reading and commenting, Clara! 🙂

Hope there is nothing personal in this poem… You are right, these are very lonely, angry people.

I’m torn between sympathy and anger when it comes to these kinds of people. It must be difficult for them, but they also make it difficult for the rest of us I’m afraid.

Cruel cowards tearing people down online must be the most lonely people in their real life because no one wants to be near toxic people like them.

Oh dear, I’m very distressed (though the poem is excellent) that anyone should give you a difficult time. Want me to beat them up for you? 🙂 The part of the poem I loved most, which may seem pathetic on my part, is “the days keep piling all around”–I just love that, because that’s how I feel a lot of the time 🙂

Aw, Azul, could you? What a kind offer, especially as my own arms and upper body strength are kind of on the puny side and thus not up to the task. 😛 And… pathetic? Absolutely not. I’m quite fond of that line too because you’re right in that’s exactly how it feels! 😉

Bless your dear heart 🙂 I’m no superwoman-dynamo, but my loyalty would probably pack a significant punch 🙂 I’m told that I generally look like someone who doesn’t take s–t off anybody! Just shake it off, Tony–whoever they are, whatever they said, it’s not worth you giving it anymore of your time and energy. You have plenty of “peeps” on your side who care 🙂

You’re absolutely right, Azul. I think I can safely be accused of letting certain things get to me a bit too much from time to time. Methinks it’s time to shake it off.

I understand that completely–I tend to brood over things 🙂 I’ll look at the links you gave me later–I’m cooking, as usual! Have a blessed day, Tony 🙂

What a great line
You’ve made your bed so shall you lay
Beautiful imagery
Have a great weekend
As always Sheldon

Sheldon, you’re the first person to have picked up on that line. I’m very pleased that you completely get where I was coming from. I hope you have a great weekend too! 🙂

How terribly clever of you. If it is what I think it is then, Bravo with balls and titties and all things shiny. Way to go. Oh, did I use the word, ‘tittle,’ perhaps I meant, ‘Tattie’…never mind. You know what I mean, I think, I hope. Awesome stuff folks.

Thanks, Annie. (It probably is what you think!) And can I just say… the way you play with words always delights me! 🙂

Me too. Even when autocorrect, replaces titties with tittles

Tittles are just another form of titties anyway. Aren’t they? Well, they could be. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it… 😛

And yes, mostly, because the alternative would be bio-logically bleak and inhumane.
