  2. i love to discover other’s explorations of the freedom contained in the constraints of 5-7-5. I believe that skill, artistry, whatever we want to call it, is vividly displayed here- shining even when working inside such a stringent structure as haiku (in counting, not in rhyming) and I revel in the poignant emotion these few words are able to tug from my heart almost effortlessly. Brava, dear.

  3. Hi Unbolt, thanks for following my blog. I have been following yours for awhile, but I can’t remember if I ever thanked you. I have tried to keep up with your posts, but it’s hard to read everything and write, will get to everything eventually. Love your writing by the way.

  6. Is it weird when you read something terribly sad and your brain just goes “YES”. Maybe it just means I’m a terribly sad person. Anyway, I loved this, especially the choice to forgo punctuation and capitalization. Brilliant.

    • No, it’s not weird at all, Serena. I think many of us can relate to the feelings portrayed in this short poem, even if the details of our lives haven’t played out in the same way. Thanks so much for reading. I know Tati appreciates it too. 🙂
