A night builds own imperium.
A shadow steals my soul.
If my life is aimless delirium
Then death is a worthy goal.
An open window. Like drops of milk
These clouds in anthracite sky.
I finished a verse. I uncurtained silk.
I stepped on the sill. Good bye…

Very sad and melancholy. Though where the ending is uncertain, hope remains. Well done!

Yes, there’s always hope, even if it’s not in the place we were looking. Thanks so much for dropping by and reading! 🙂

The softness of “drops of milk” and “uncurtained silk” and the sound of “sill” contrasts brilliantly with the harsh, hardness of the jump at the end of the poem. Brilliant! Long live such talent!

I couldn’t agree more, Marianne. Long may Tati continue to write! 😀

This is very good, but I fear there will be no sequel.

Aww… thank you! Yes, you’re right. Definitely, no sequel for this one… Hmmm… Okay! I know a solution. Let’s press a rewind button instead 😛

Excellent use of imagery and rhyme couplet to drive the poem to the last sharp line. Very well done.

I agree with “field of thorns”–wasn’t expecting a step off the windowsill. Had to go back and read it twice to make sure I got it. Well done.

It means that I’ve touched a string inside you… It’s the biggest happiness for any author…

Awesomely brilliant, Tia. The start to the end is smartly enveloped. I loved the ending very much…………it was a very profound Goodbye.

Oh… Reva… thank you!!
I know that it isn’t so encouragingly… but mysterious are the ways of the Lord. Sometimes not we write our verses… sometimes all is vice versa.

“I stepped on the sill. Good bye…”, I was not expecting that, dark yes, but the complete finality of all, wow! So, I hope that it was taken as a compliment.
