i gave myself away
and the more i gave
the less there was of me
i am only finite
i can only feel so much
i kneeled myself to pray
and the more i prayed
the less there was of me
i am only finite
i can only bleed so much
i resigned myself to another day
and the more i cried
the less there was of me
i am only finite
i am only human

Yes, as are we all. Yet still the news wrings it from us. All the way down to the very last drop.

It’s no wonder I mostly avoid the news these days. It’s just too much sometimes!

This reminds me of the William Blake Poem “ God I couldn’t find;
I sought my soul and my soul eluded me;
I sought to serve my brother in his need, and I found all three;
My God, my soul, and thee.“

My love as deep as the sea; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.

I like this idea of giving ourselves away, how we give to everything and everyone. But when we self-isolate we almost feel our souls get richer?

It’s the classic tale of the introvert. As an introvert myself, a little time spent is often a good way for me to recharge my emotional batteries.
