‘To open or unfasten by withdrawing a bolt.’ (Merriam-Webster)
Why ‘unbolt’?
Like introverts everywhere we prefer to sit inside our dark private sheds. And while we may prefer to hide our writings inside big wooden chests – behind bolt and bar – the time comes when those chests overflow. It’s time to unbolt, to open the chests. It’s time to show what is hidden.
You probably won’t find here brightly colored pictures, hit songs, etc. We want to keep a focus on the texts. We want to give absolute freedom for your inner vision because we trust you completely, dear Readers.
We want to create an adventure for you. There are no dead-ends or wrong turns. Every click is teleportation, a turn of the key and another open door for you. We call upon you to not be shy! You can touch, click and explore every nook here!
We also recommend that you pay attention to the comments. Sometimes a discussion below the main post is no less interesting than the post itself. We promise that you’ll find verses and prose there, brightly colored pictures, hit songs, etc. Our dearest Writers and Readers are always creative!
Okay… enough of the introduction. Are you ready for your first click?
(A tip for those who don’t like the Brownian motion and prefer to go according to a more accurate plan.) The menu with Categories is hidden to the left under the small striped square. It’s a pretty handy way to navigate here.

Hi! Thanks for liking my posts. I need a bit of your help, though. I started my blog this February and I need it to get recognized more. I presently have a paltry 4 followers and a few likes on my posts. My past two posts have gotten no views, and thus no likes from my fellow bloggers :(. How do I make my blog known to people? Please help! I love writing and want to pursue writing as a career (currently a fourteen-year-old who recently wrote a novel). I think a blog is the best way to be known in the literary world before being published, so I created ‘Charlie and the cerebration factory’, where I post my poems, short stories and parodies of well-known poems. It’d be awesome if you could give me some advice. I could really use your help. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hey there, fellow blogger. We’re mighty impressed at what you’ve achieved so far! In all honesty, there’s really not much in the way of advice we can give. Keep writing. A lot. Also, make sure you notify your readers of updates through Facebook, Twitter and the like. And read as many other people’s blogs as you can. Engage in conversation. Always respond to any comments you get on your own blog. These things remind people that you’re around and that you’re creating. Other than that, we can only wish you the best of luck! 🙂

Hi. It takes anywhere on the average from 9ish months to 2ish years for a blog to take off. Also, most blogs fail in the 6ish months to 9ish months period. At the age of 14, you’ve already accomplished so much! Persevere and everything will fall into place. Tony Single’s advice below about social media is very important. You have to do everything you can to get the word out to people otherwise, people won’t know about your blog! This blog is a good example of a well-formed site. Thank you for taking the time to read the reply.

Thanks, Peter. Tati must take credit for that as she was the one who dreamed up this site in the first place. I love its pleasingly spartan look. It really puts the reader’s attention on the words which is where it should be on a literary blog really. 😀
