Ich Rumpelstilzchen Heißen!

“Let’s open a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and pour out our lives, let’s make it colourful!”

Hey, buddies! Where are your wineglasses? Don’t be shy! Come on!

bg-quote1Heute back ich, morgen brau ich,
übermorgen hol ich der Königin ihr Kind;
ach, wie gut, dass niemand weiß,
dass ich Rumpelstilzchen heiß!

My mysterious Ukrainian friend wrote those lines to me a few days back, when I told her that I like to call myself Rumpelstiltskin. I don’t speak German, so I had to whip out J.A.R.V.I.S. (my phone) and puzzle out the translation. I could guess what those lines would be, but I like solving puzzles and this to me was nothing less. I read the lines out smiling to myself.

Fairy tales always take me back to a cozy and peaceful place in time; curled up in bed with my dad or mum reading from a big book of tales. Then ever so slowly the sandman would come riding on moonbeams and take me away to Neverland. Story telling is an art, and my parents will…

GUEST POST // When Time Stopped For You by Kasey Stafford aka BasicAudio

The younger days grew older,
With the hourglass dropping bits of time,
I sit, staring at shared memories left unto me.
These nights grow colder.
I’m throwing wishes toward the heavens,
For you to walk this earth again.
To see my friend, I wish
I knew why you left.
Still I was left to wonder.
Left to stare at the remnants of a shattered life.
Lost to it’s meaning, suffered in it’s feelings.
The news broke me in two.
How your skies faded from blue to black, I’ll never understand.
How could you give up?
You left me in the dark,
Before you blew out your last candle.
Tears falling like the stars,
Where your light now resides.
Flickering echoes of a soul lost in the universe,
Forever reaching for Gods hand,
While mine are shaking, gathering up sand.
Piecing together the hourglass,
Holding it together with memories,
So it can never be broken again.
Rest peacefully with the stars.

H2O

I like thinking underwater… and in the darkness. The most splendid thoughts visit my head in the bathroom at nights. It’s impossible to imagine an infinite quantity of the great ideas that I had during my nine months bathing in warm amniotic fluid.

But my long hard way through the birth canal… my primeval shock when I met with the external world for the first time… It erased this layer of my memory. Completely.

I know that now I can spend all my life attempting to recall… in miserable and unavailing efforts to turn diamond dust into diamonds.

But I have a whole life for it… and I will.
