GUEST POST // An Unkindness of Ravens by Obsidian Visionary

Perched upon the branch of an elder oak,
Eyes brimming with hunger, ebony cloak
Talons sharp, a blood stained jaw,
Eerily beautiful but with many a flaw.

Wings of black, known to be nefarious
Whoever thought this to be all, must be delirious
Mustn’t judge a book by its tainted cover
Although dark, a brighter personality you may uncover.

Widely reputed for its malicious behavior,
And famous for its merciless demeanor.
But in those void less eyes of oblivion,
Traces of wisdom seek dominion.

Intellect and madness are both one handed
Words of insight not to be demanded
An endless swirl of a dual personality
All mixed up in a single feathered entity

These beasts of onyx despise cowards
Only to the brave, knowledge it shall pass onwards
Approach the deity only if you are not craven
For you might have to face an Unkindness of Ravens.

GUEST POST // Path by Field of thorns

On the crooked path of life
Turning left or turning right
No matter –
Eventually –
All roads lead back home.
~
Don’t be fooled, you walk it alone.

I’m trying to keep my composure

I’m trying to keep my composure…
but my mind was caught by a barbwire enclosure!
I couldn’t sever truth and lie!
I would prefer to meet shots and die!
I forgot all my experience of verbal…
I could apply only quiet burble,
I could chomp and stutter,
I could belch and sputter!
I felt like a mauled hooker,
My body was burnt on the hellish cooker!
I got mugged like a stupid goof!
My tongue laid on the loft like proof!
I plunged into the hot bloody gel…
My perspectives deteriorated. Hell!
It makes no sense to use a compress
When a zombie gnaws your tender ass…

GUEST POST // Woman In Black by Obsidian Visionary

I feel the pain in my head,
As rage grips my mind like a claw.
I now see with clarity the Woman in Black,
Radiant as the sun and without flaw.

Her ashen face cloaked by an exquisite veil,
Like the sun eclipses the moon.
As she beckons me closer with half a smile,
A step forward and I’m ready to swoon.

Her beautiful face turns murky with every step,
As my head throbs with a need for release.
Is it folly to continue on this treacherous path,
Or is it destiny calling in all its wrath.

I choose to move onward, pain now gripping my heart,
While the epitome of beauty casts down her impenetrable veil.
To reveal not a face of serenity,
But one ravaged to all extremity.

I try to run but the agony is far too great,
Falling to the ground, flashes of white seize my mind.
Peace engulfs me in its arms as I take my final breath,
Looking at the Woman in Black who was nothing but death.
