One Lovely Blog Award. A bit of magic and the Russian Roulette!

Hey there!

I’m sure you forgot about this awesome fact… Didn’t you? But I didn’t forget! Yes, I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award 10 days ago! I’m immensely grateful for Jacob Lascsak (Serpentine is Here) for this nomination. And I must earn this sweet vermilion heart on my main page. OK… Let’s go, guys!

7 facts or things about me.

Hmmm… The most difficult part probably. My blog is a place for my writings, not for my private… but OK! Rules are rules. I adopted this nomination and I must play it straight. Enjoy!

1) I was born on Yuri’s Night.
Of course, I wanted to become an astronaut (a cosmonaut) in my childhood.

2) I wear sneakers with the characters from Toy Story’.
Hey, Rex and Potato Head! How are you today, guys?

3) I jumped with a parachute.
4,200 meters (it’s approximately 14,000 feet) and 1 minute of free fall… AAAAAAAAAAA! It was devilishly awesome!

4) I might have drowned in my childhood because of my parents.
Hey! Never leave your little kids with an air mattress alone on the bank! I decided that I was a cool sea captain and that I could reach the horizon…

5) I don’t use smartphones.
I really don’t need it… I use my cell-phone only for calls and SMS. My good old Nokia 6300 copes with this just perfectly!

6) I’m an agnostic.
At least, in this particular point of space and time, I feel so.

7) I practice yoga.
Regularly for about 4 years… Yes, I can do a lot of interesting things with my body… but the most interesting is what I can do with my mind.

8) I don’t remember…
Heeeeey! Stop! You’ve got 7 things about me already!

15 bloggers I admire.

I admire… I admire… field of thorns, 21 Shades of Blue, Strings of Soulfulness, Spahr Plops, Northern Nevermore, MEN HEAL, raycabiro… lordwalt, my light angel.

My dearest writers and readers! I’m thankful that you find time for reading, liking and commenting on my blog! Guys, you know how I admire you! I hope you feel it too. All my nominations, that exist and don’t exist, I devote to you. But… sorry for my adventurism. I hope I’ll not offend you. Today I decided to save you precious time. I decided to save you precious time for reading, liking and commenting on my blog. Well… just kidding! Of course, I’m looking forward to your new posts, and I decided to keep your precious time for them!

And… I’ve decided to play Russian Roulette. I’ll put a secret word as a tag and press ‘Search’. The first 15 posts that I like… and their authors will be my candidates. OK… I’m ready to surprise and to be surprised. Fire!

  1. I became nervous just reading about you free falling for a bit! aaah! lol I’ve parasailed and that was thrilling! I’ve always wanted to sky dive, but once I became a mom, the need for that has diminished. Maybe when my kids are all grown up and I have a good will on hand, I will jump out of a plane! 😛
Yoga is great. It helps me clear my mind and really stretches me out.
It was great learning about you!

  2. Congrats!! You deserve this. Your facts were so fun to read 🙂 I also do yoga, though I doubt as good as you. I just started almost a year ago, without any training (I’m not opposed to it, just haven’t gone to a class or anything)…it makes a world of difference both mentally and of course physically. In fact, I wrote a poem about it that I think I might post later now 🙂
    Thanks for being you.

    • Thank you!
I’m glad that my efforts brought a bit of good mood for my friends 🙂
Wow! Do you do yoga too? It’s great! Yes, yoga changes the world around you 🙂 And of course, the main work is inside our minds, not with our bodies 🙂 If you want, I’ll be glad to share my experience with you 🙂
Thank you again. And thanks for being you!

  3. Awesome! I love the Mr. Potatohead shoes! A cool word used to describe the color of potatoes is Russet, close in sound to Russian! I now get the Russian Roulette reference you made the other day, clever idea! I follow “Some Call It Red”, and a couple other Canadians! I think I probably talk to more Canadians then I do people from any other country on WordPress, to be honest! lol I don’t use a smart phone either, though I do use an iPod Touch, which is like one, it just can’t make calls or sms/text .

I’m honored that the Cheshire Cat is admired along with Alice, Hatter… both you bloggers are, likewise!

    • Oh, thank you! 🙂
I’m glad, that you liked my frivolous scribble :)))
Russet… cool! I can see you’re an expert of Red hues 🙂
      Hmm… Ru-Wiki describes 22 hues of Red. Eng-Wiki – 55.
Interesting… No! English is rulez! No one has more 🙂
      Seriously, thank you, Cheshire Cat…
I’m happy that you liked Hatter’s chatter 🙂

    • You’re welcome 🙂

I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, though I may know a little bit more than the average person, because I have a personal interest in shades of red. I am certainly no expert though, I’m sure artists who have gone to college, or painters who regularly work with shades of red have a much deeper knowledge of their names and the history of their uses and the origins of their names than I do.

It appears that I know a lot about them, but it’s only an illusion – the variances in the spectrum of knowledge of the color spectrum is vast from creative mind to creative mind. I am really just on the fringes of “beginner knowledge” of the color wheel, though I thank you for the benefit of your kind compliment 🙂

By the way Hatter whose chatter I indulge joyously as we are similarly mad and likewise lost in our thoughts’ creative wonderlands – there are even more named shades of Red than 55! Some of them have names that originate in other non-English-speaking countries, like the shade Falun/Falu Red, a shade that originated in it’s use in paint, from a copper mine in Sweden’s city of Falun! I know a lot of shades of blue are named after American University’s who use them in their school’s coat-of-arms, and I imagine it’s the same around the whole world!

There are thousands and thousands of shades of color, and not all of them have names, but many of them do, and some of them have multiple names! For example, another name for the shade of red called Alizarin Crimson, is Rose Madder!

      Oh, Your Modesty!..

Yes, it’s really a very interesting topic! Recently I was reading about the archaic Russian names of the different colors. It’s hellish interesting and funny!
Sometimes I even had no idea about the base color, not to mention of the shades! 🙂
